JAMP Welcomes Entry Year 2025 Cohort Following One of the Most Competitive Cycles Yet
At the March 5th JAMP Council Meeting in Fort Worth, the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) officially welcomed 150 new scholars into the Entry Year 2025 (EY25) cohort—along with 25 alternates—following one of the most competitive application cycles in the program’s history.
This year, JAMP received 364 applications—a 25% increase from the previous cycle—and conducted 236 interviews across Texas. The rise in applications reflects growing interest in the program’s mission to expand access to medical education for high-achieving students with significant financial need.
Pathway to Texas Medicine
JAMP plays a critical role in addressing Texas’ physician workforce shortage by supporting talented students from across the state as they pursue careers in medicine. The program provides scholars with a structured pathway that includes summer internships, MCAT preparation, mentorship, and guaranteed interviews at Texas medical schools. Students gain more than academic resources—they join a network dedicated to service and leadership in medicine, ultimately preparing them to return and serve the communities they call home.
